Hygienic Antimicrobial
Kitchen Polyurethane Flooring System
Requirements:
The patient catering kitchen at SCGH was outdated and required refurbishment. The existing flooring included a mix of vinyl, tile and resin systems that was starting to create an unsafe and unhygienic environment. The floors were also putting excessive stress on kitchen operations and requiring excessive maintenance.
Antiskid were brought in to advise and assist with recommendations for a specification for the flooring rectification and associated works.
Solution:
Antiskid conducted operations utilising a staged approach while working closely with the builder and adhering to a strict deadline and budget.
Initially, all vinyl and vinyl adhesive was removed from the floor and from site. Then the tiles were prepared for the next stage. The falls to drains were then inspected and any failures or irregularities were corrected by our experienced staff.
Finally, the Flowfresh 6mm Polyurethane Flooring System and coving was applied.
The team at Antiskid worked closely with the builder and engineering staff to ensure a minimum of disruption and that any noise was mitigated. This close cooperation was essential to the ongoing smooth operation of the hospital. The result is a world class system with long design life, high impact resistance and is low maintenance.
All told, an outstanding solution achieved within project timeframe and budget.
