Shared Pathways – CST Claisebrook Bridge East Perth
ANTISKID AT WORK
> Shared pathway surfacing systems
There had been a number of complaints spanning over a period of 12 months regarding conflict between pedestrians, cyclists and train passengers as to right of way for each of these users.
A ‘before’ video survey was carried out as part of the investigation and project development work and it was intended to carry out an ‘after’ video survey on completion of remedial work to assess the impact of the proposed treatment on user movement in this area.
Main Roads WA in conjunction with the Public Transport Authority completed installation of the OMNINIGRIP CST surfacing system to the Claisebrook shared pathway overpass to provide better clarity for all users in order to minimise the conflict.
Incorporating the unique Synthite coloured aggregate materials and with a projected design life in excess of 10 years, works were completed by Omnicrete accredited contractors Antiskid Industries. The treatment provided an immediate safety improvement for cyclists and commuters alike.\
