Bus Priority Lane – Victoria Park

> Safe and vivid coloured Bus Priority Lane

> Antiskid CST surfacing system

When the Public Transport Authority undertook works through Civcon WA to construct a bus-only right-hand turn (RHT) lane at the intersection of Craig Street and Great Eastern Highway in Burswood they needed to safely and effectively indicate the nature of the lane. The 120m bus lane caters for buses travelling from the nearby Victoria Park Transfer Station and will increase the efficiency of Transperth services while reducing congestion on Burswood Road so it was important to ensure that this lane was used as intended. The surface also needed to be durable enough to withstand the pressures exerted by large numbers of buses using the lane.

They didn’t have to look too far to find the right solution. The Antiskid CST surfacing system incorporates the unique brick red Synthite coloured aggregate material with a projected design life in excess of 10 years. And PTA along with Main Roads and many other organisations have used CST effectively and economically to achieve their desired results. Omnigrip CST was specified for the project and Antiskid Industries designed and applied the system. The results speak for themselves.
