WHY ANTISKID?
ANTISKID is specifically engineered to form a flexible high friction coating for application directly to road pavement surfaces. Unlike some other road treatment systems, ANTISKID has a demonstrated performance history free from product and legal liability faults associated with the loss of skid resistance and delamination from the road surface.
Specifically formulated for highway application the ANTISKID system demonstrates the following advantages over traditional pavement treatments:

Long term skid resistance: |
At points of high traffic volumes and heavy braking, bitumen surfaces eventually can polish and lose high levels of skid resistance. ANTISKID's aggregate system is comprised of mineral aggregates with proven polished stone values which do not polish smooth but rather micro fractures providing a high friction surface at all times for the design life of the system.
ANTISKID is not paint, but is in fact a resin bonded aggregate system finished to an average thickness of 3mm. Thus, by bonding an aggregate with a high Polished Stone Value (PSV) to the road pavement, ANTISKID is able to produce a pavement surface with a high skid resistance which will be maintained throughout the service life of the treatment. |

| Visibly safer: |
The ANTISKID system can be brightly coloured and, by pigmenting both the aggregate and binder, can obtain a depth of colour that is UV resistant to specifically highlight hazardous locations. |
| Long service life: |
Unlike methacrylate resin, cementitious treatments or low grade polyurethane and acrylic paint treatments, ANTISKID is an industrial strength resin based system free of fillers and diluents. Accordingly the resin system demonstrates excellent tensile and pavement bonding strength ensuring that aggregates up to 5mm are held permanently in position and are not dislodged even under the heaviest of braking. |
| Pavement protection: |
The ANTISKID system is impervious to most chemicals including oil, petrol and diesel, eliminates UV degradation of the pavement and reduces chemical and water absorption, effectively extending the life of the road pavement. |
| Low maintenance: |
The ANTISKID system is effectively a no maintenance system. However, in the event of road rectification works, the ANTISKID system may be quickly and simply patched at minimal cost without the requirement to undertake a full surface treatment. |

ANTISKID is made and manufactured in Australia for Australian conditions. Accordingly, technical support staff are always available to assist traffic engineers and town planners alike. |
