OMNIGRIP HF is a specialty road and pavement treatment designed to improve and maintain the skid resistance of asphalt or concrete road pavements and to be highly visible to motorists. It plays a major new role in the prevention of skid related crashes by decreasing the braking distance on our roadways by up to 50% in wet weather conditions.
OMNIGRIP HF is comprised of an epoxy surfacing binder layer dressed with a stone aggregate with high resistance to polishing (Polish Stone Value) and very high skid resistance.
Unlike bitumen road surfaces the Antiskid OMNIGRIP System is designed to provide and maintain high levels of skid resistance under heavy traffic loads at areas where it is most needed in braking and sharp turning locations. OMNIGRIP HF does not eventually lose its high skid resistance values and as such will provide a safe level of skid resistance, not just when installed, but for the life design of the product.
Since the introduction of OMNIGRIP HF to the Australian market in 1998, OMNIGRIP HF has set a new standard of safety specification for highway skid resistance and coloured surfacing. Prominent in most Australian capital cities, OMNIGRIP HF has been installed to over 100,000m2 of bus lanes, intersection 'Black Spot' locations, schools crossings, rail crossings, cycle paths, ghost islands, and turning pockets. Main Roads Western Australia has been instrumental in demanding OMNIGRIP at intersections with high incidence of rear end collisions.
